Now Amanda and I love our budget trips and always have a blast but there's something fun about splurging on something a little fancier.
I did go this year so far, I hadn't gone out to eat much or spent a lot of money so saving up for this splurge wasn't too difficult. We wanted to do another girly spa getaway and I found a great deal on Travelzoo for a spa day at the Beverly Hilton. Score!!! Since we were spa-ing (Is that a word? Who cares, it is now) at the location of the annual Golden Globes, I decided to be extra geeky and plan our trip around other celebrity hotspots in town. If the rich and famous love it, it can't suck, right?
We left bright and early on a Wednesday morning and did our usual Starbucks stop first. The drive was pretty easy since I've done it a million times. I had always loved West Hollywood and wanted to stay in the area but never had the time or the money. We found a pretty cool deal for the Mondrian since I had a free upgrade and used some points from Expedia (all that traveling pays off).
Our first stop was the Urth Caffe. I ordered a quiche, a fun green drink called the Monkey Granita, and the matcha tiramisu. OMG so delicious. Nice little spot; crazy busy. We sat outside since it was warm and sunny and a lot of fun people watching.
After this we hit the spa for facials, massages, and a lot of sitting around. We even got to enjoy the infamous pool that Angelina Jolie jumped into.
Our hotel was adorable. Great view, great room, and great toiletries (I love fancy toiletries lol).
We had dinner at Katana which was right across the street on Sunset Blvd. We decided to go all out and get the Izakaya Feast and we weren't disappointed. Awesome service (aspiring actor of course), and the food was delicious. About five or six small courses of amazing.
that hotel looks so sweet!
