Vegas Lifestyle Influencers- Marvel Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N.

Just a couple of weeks ago, a few of my Vegas Lifestyle Influencer girls and I got to check out the Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N. attraction at Treasure Island Hotel & Casino.

We went in with the last group so we wouldn't be disruptive and we took a ton of photos. The whole attraction is extremely interactive and immersive. You can borrow one of the mobile devices at the attraction or download the mobile app for the attraction onto your phone before you get there.

The whole attraction is filled with costumes, props, and portions of the movies' sets. It's pretty amazing to see all of this up close and in real life! There are also activities in the device and trivia questions accompany each exhibit room.

We saw Captain America's bike and my accessories kind of fit in perfectly.

Also, some of the costumes and the chamber from the first film!

The Hulk room is a bit loud and may be the only one that's mildly disturbing for small children.

Vision's chamber was pretty cool to see.

Ant-Man's suit and the ant arrows on the floor.

You could even attempt to lift Mjolnir.

I loved the room with the Iron Man suits.

Thank you so much to the Avengers S.T.A.T.I.O.N. for hosting us!
As always, all opinions are my own!

Girl's Night Out- BSB Vegas!

For almost a decade, my best friend and I have been going to Backstreet Boys concerts.

Funny story, when I met Melissa at work for the first time, we really didn't like each other very much. Shortly after meeting (and not getting along too well), she transferred to my department and they put her in the cubicle RIGHT NEXT TO MINE. Needless to say, I was less than thrilled. That said, spending all that time sitting next to each other got us talking and what do you know, over ten years later, we're besties. I'm convinced our main bonding point was our BSB love.

When the Backstreet Boys announced their mini Vegas residency, it wasn't a question of if we were going but when. Clearly, we were going. We even made a legit girl's night of it and Melissa got us a really great hotel room right across the street (full review to come) so we could get ready and stay out late and have somewhere cool to crash.

If you're heading out to Vegas to see the Backstreet Boys while they're playing at Planet Hollywood, here are a few things to know about the show!

The showroom is a lot smaller than I expected. This was awesome because it made all the seats pretty good. Everyone does tend to stand for virtually the entire show though so be prepared! You will have a chance to sit when the guys are changing their outfits (which happens like three times).

Make a real night of it and eat beforehand. We were pressed for time and the only food we could find in the theatre were soft pretzels that were $8 a piece. I know showroom food is crazy expensive but this kind of takes the cake.

If you don't buy your merchandise inside, it's kind of okay because the Planet Hollywood stores outside the showroom sell most of the same stuff (for the same price, I checked). It helps you beat the line but they didn't seem to have EVERYTHING so check first!

A little embarrassing but I honestly felt really old at the show! I think a lot of it had to do with the fact that Melissa and I were both completely sober! Before the show starts there is a huge video montage of all of BSB's greatest hits. Everyone seemed to know all the words to every single clip and I was legitimately having trouble keeping up! By the time I figured out what song was playing, a new one started and the remix was like 12-15 minutes. I was confused most of the time. I remember looking at Melissa and saying, "I wish I was as drunk as the rest of these people".

Just about every song they play is pretty much one of their hits; if not here then in Europe or Asia or Canada. They only had a couple filler songs but they really do play like all of their big hits. It's almost awkward because every single song ends up being like really epic and a little cheesy at first but just go with it. People were dancing in the aisles (two girls in front of me were practically waltzing with each other) and random drunk guys will yell random drunk guy things (one guy kept yelling "Kevin" every five minutes or so and it was never Kevin he was looking at).

The guys are older and they handle it really well. Brian even made a joke about pulling a muscle. A couple of the more upbeat songs get a bit of a remodel to something a little slower and more manageable (like Get Down since they can't exactly jump up and down for five minutes straight).

They've still got the moves. While they do have back-up dancers for the more energetic moves that they can't quite do anymore, the classic songs still get the same treatment. For instance- the chair part in As Long As You Love Me.

Throwback Thursdays

BSB 2013

I had to go to this one alone, augh! Since I was flying solo, I splurged at the last minute on a really good seat and an after party pass. I was sitting in row 12 (the 12 year old girl inside me was thrilled) and the show was amazing! It's the first show I got to see with all five of the Backsteet Boys since 1998 and it was so good! The after party was a blast, Nick was DJ-ing and before the guys went in, I got to go to a meet and greet with Kevin, Howie, and Nick. They rushed us through but as soon as I got up close, Nick gave me a huge hug (like he knew I've been a fan for almost 20 years) and Howie said "It's nice to see you again" like he actually remembered me from 2011. Such a good night!

Throwback Thursdays

NKOTBSB 2011

Okay, we had to go to this show. Melissa was actually a New Kids on the Block fan and it just seemed like too good a show to pass up! I was a little too young for NKOTB but it was a blast. They played all the best songs from both boy bands and we even hit up both after parties (which were kind of next door to each other in terms of casinos with NKOTB at Chateau and BSB at Gallery). We even had a close encounter with the New Kids on the Block when they walked right by us at Sugar Factory (Donnie grabbed my arm walking by and smiled at me and I didn't recognize him until afterwards whaaaat). I have literally never seen a nightclub as packed as Chateau was on the night of that party! It was wall to wall women of a very specific age group and there was barely room to walk. We got to enjoy a couple after party songs though so it was so worth it! A bunch of the guys stayed in town for the July 4th weekend so I actually ran into Jordan Knight and Howie Dorough at Treasure Island!

Throwback Thursdays

BSB 2010

This show was a lot of fun because it was at Mandalay Beach. We sat out on big beach towels to watch (I was not about to stand in that water for two hours) and it was a blast! We didn't have the best view but it was pretty comfortable! Shows at Mandalay Beach are kind of hit or miss but BSB shows are always amazing.

Fab Fridays

Good morning!

Man, it's April. I feel like March dragged a bit but I'm honestly kind of glad because January and February went by so fast! March was definitely busy and crazy and the beginning of April was as well. Let's put it this way- I'm typing this to you at 2AM with the scent of chlorine still on my skin (and yes, I did shower). But I wanted to get this post done.

You've probably noticed a few changes if you've been following the blog for more than a couple weeks. I finally bit the bullet and got a professional blog style installed and I have to say, I love it. Especially the Instagram feed at the bottom. So cool! Sarah from Social and Chic did such an amazing job so if you need any web design stuff, go check out her site and her Etsy store! You won't be sorry that you did!

Anyway, on to the good stuff. Last week was ACM weekend and y'all know how much I love my country music. This year I was gone for a good part of the weekend and missed several shows I wanted to see but not the most important one- Florida Georgia Line. BY THE WAY- Did anyone catch their performance with the Backstreet Boys? EPIC.

We got to the show a bit late but we caught the acts we wanted to see before FGL- Dustin Lynch and Cole Swindell (always have to support the cruise artists). We started out in the back and slowly got really great spots.

At first I wasn't planning to go because tickets were preeeeetty expensive. In the end, I had a friend in town so I decided to go since I haven't seen my favorite band play in almost a year and a half. That's a record for me! Crazy!

We even got to see the guys accept their awards for Single of the Year and Vocal Event of the Year. It was pretty awesome because I remember being there the night FGL won their first ACM award.

I haven't been to a Florida Georgia Line show since they released their most recent album so it was so much fun getting to see some of the new songs live for the first time. We got great spots in the pit standing IN the water at Mandalay Beach (my toes are still looking like raisins) and were right up front. So cool!

I'm so glad I went; the show was so much fun and the company was great since I'm used to standing in pits alone at shows. Even better- I totally ran into Tyler and BK (and his amazing wife) in the casino! I've met so many artists I respect and admire but I seriously freaked out when I got to talk to them and I'm not even ashamed of it.

Weekend Plans: It's my dog's birthday. Roger is 10 today! We are getting him puppy pizza and a birthday cookie from the dog bakery near our house. We also got him a cute birthday outfit. I know, I know. Crazy dog people.

Weekend Jam: Anything Goes by Florida Georgia Line. Because seriously. Perfect weekend anthem for any weekend!
