Welcome to another Throwback Thursday!
I've taken a lot of short trips for concerts. Contrary to popular belief, a lot of artists don't come to Vegas on tours. We're sandwiched between three other cities that get a lot of the tour dates (Los Angeles, Phoenix, Salt Lake City) so frequently, we get skipped. That means if you're bent on catching a specific show, a lot of times that means having to travel.
A couple years ago, two of my friends and I wanted to see Tim McGraw. He was touring between his Soul 2 Soul dates at the Venetian so we opted to catch his show in Chula Vista. We got a room for the night in San Diego and timed everything perfectly so that we would have a chance at getting a good spot on the floor. We even paid for the VIP parking just to make sure we got to the gate in time.
We couldn't have hoped for a better spot! Up close and in the middle. Love and Theft and Brantley Gilbert opened and the crowd was super chill (though stoned for most of Brantley Gilbert's set) and not pushy at all. Our spots were perfect!
