NFR 2015- Sam Hunt

When this show was first announced, I thought I'd have plenty of time to decide if I wanted to go.

That was really dumb.

We managed to get tickets at the last minute that weren't TOO insanely overpriced, but when I mentioned to my mother that I was going to go, she quietly said "I want to go too". LOL

We grabbed dinner at DOCG Enoteca inside Cosmopolitan.

This stuff is unbelievably delicious. Like OMG. So yummy.

We had standing room seats on the balcony and they were comfortable and not cramped. We had a great view of the whole stage and looking down at that floor, I would have been miserable for sure.

Such a great show.

Random stuffed horse.

Great time with mom.

LA Roadtrips- Roscoe's & La Brea Tar Pits

I spent a lot of time in LA as a kid (both sets of grandparents lived there) but I never really got to do a lot of touristy things. Mostly I would get shuttled back and forth between the two homes and that was about it. Corey has only been to LA a couple of times so it's fun to explore with him since there are some places I've been that I can show him and some places that are brand new for both of us.

I took Corey to Roscoe's. It seemed absolutely necessary. I managed to pick one in a much less scary part of town and it turned out this one was quite large. No cramming into tiny spaces for us this time. I got the classic Scoe's combo and Corey got an omelette. Strange choice in a chicken and waffles joint but he seemed to enjoy it. Besides, how can you go wrong with chicken, eggs, and cheese??

For instance- I'd never been to the La Brea Tar Pits. I'd seen them in movies (My Girl 2, Volcano, etc) but never actually been there. Unfortunately, it was raining for a good portion of our trip so everything felt a bit more muddy but we still had a fun time.

The baby elephant makes me sad.

We observed the fake paw prints and a strange tree that looked like a donkey.

We also saw some of the surrounding art pieces at LACMA.

Also thought this building was super cool looking.

LA Roadtrips- Manhattan Beach

So far there is one benefit to having a boyfriend with a comfy car who likes to drive and hates my driving: I never have to drive on our roadtrips. EVER. I can nap with my stuffed shark and leave my phone on the GPS and that's it. So nice.

This particular trip was a bit rough because we had to wake up around 3AM to leave so that Corey could get his early morning beach shots. It was nice to go somewhere a little warmer since Vegas was a bit more cold than we would have liked.

We got too the beach later than we wanted but Corey still got some really gorgeous photos and I sat around a took pics with my phone.

When looking for parking, we got a great surprise- the city of Manhattan Beach was offering free parking at all their typically metered spaces as a way of saying Merry Christmas. How awesome! We also got to wander the beach for a little bit and it was fairly quiet since it was still early.

After walking around and taking photos, I hit up a couple of boutiques (I got roped into one awesome store where everything was under $16.99 including the coats) and we grabbed breakfast. We picked a cute little spot with an outdoor patio called Uncle Bill's. Great prices and really delicious food.

We made a couple stops at a few of my area faves (Marukai and Daiso) for some snacks and necessities (black sesame pudding, foot detox things, Hello Kitty marshmallows) before attempting (successfully) to check into our hotel early. After check-in, it was nap time.

Christmas

I know, I know.

This is insanely late for a holiday post.

Just wait until you see how long it takes to do my rodeo posts. Yikes.

Christmas this year was really chill. We didn't cook anything but the green bean casserole. We got everything else from Honeybaked Ham. So yummy.

We also watched A Charlie Brown Christmas while enjoying popcorn from a Charlie Brown Christmas tin. You know how much I love a good theme.

Even Roger got into it. The Christmas sweater helped.

Good times and no drama.

A few days later we went and looked at the Christmas lights at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
