Throwback Thursday

That year I didn't realize how disgusting the pool parties were and went to Rehab and Ditch.

Okay, Ditch is fine. But Rehab is gross.

When I first turned 21, it was like my mission to go to the major pool parties at least once. At the time there was pretty much just Ditch Fridays and Rehab Sundays. Now there are party pools at almost every casino.

Note that the water in these photos is not yet brown. Also, Rehab would not allow any liquids. Even TSA lets you have a quart size bag but apparently the pool is afraid you've got ecstasy in that eyedrop bottle.

Throwback Thursday

The time I went to that first Playboy party and half the people were dressed like pirates.

Probably because it was pirate themed. Playboy events are always a little different; to get "selected", you have to fill out an application and send in a cute photo. Little bit awkward.

The one thing I love about the Playboy parties at the Palms was how elaborate they were. They really didn't spare a lot of expense with the decor, the theme, and the entertainment (or the open bar in many cases). The themes were always a lot of fun too.

And yes, there were girls in body paint.

Ashley's Wedding Part 1

There was way too much awesome to put this in just one post.

There were also too many pictures.

The day started for me at around 10:30 when I got to Ashley's hotel room. There was purple everywhere and the room was packed. Between the family members and bridal party, it was chaos. But happy chaos. No arguing, no drama.

As Ashley's right hand for the day, she had asked me to wear something purple a couple months ago. Oddly enough, the dress I got perfectly matched the bridal bouquet and the cake. So perfect!!!

I took some fun photos of the girls getting ready and then had to rush home for a shoe emergency. When I got back, it was just about time to pile into the limo.

When we got to the venue, it was amazing. Everything was beautiful. The venue was gorgeous and the bridal suite was huge. I took a ton of photos before the wedding photographer got there and then I ducked out to stay out of his way and visit with the boys.

Ashley's Bachelorette Party

OMG Such an awesome night.

I've never played bingo and then went to a strip club right after but this was that kind of night.

Since one of the bridesmaids and myself were unable to be at Ashley's big bachelorette weekend, we opted to throw her a mini bash here in Vegas. We put together welcome kits/hangover kits for the girls who flew in. I baked cookies that I'm pretty proud of.

In true Vegas fashion, I'm not sharing all the details of the night (especially not the part where I almost slapped a stripper). I'll let the photos speak for themselves. :-)

P.S. A few of the photos were borrowed from one of the bridesmaids because they were too awesome not to share here.

Lisa's Wedding

What a beautiful day!

The weather was perfect and the day was awesome. Mom and I drove up to Palos Verdes for Lisa's wedding and it was gorgeous. The reception was at the Cheesecake Factory in Redondo Beach and the view of the marina was beautiful. The reception had a great movie theme with themed tables and concessions. Such a blast and I had a great time hanging out with my good friend Rubina all night.

Congrats to Lisa and Joe!!!

LA Weekend

What a weekend.

This is totally later than I like to post things but life has literally been INSANE.

Over the holiday weekend, my mom and I spent the weekend in LA for Lisa's wedding (yay). We visited my grandfather which was wonderful because he looked so lonely. We ate a LOT. I think I spent half my weekend in Marukai (Japanese market) and Daiso (Japanese dollar store). I never realized just how Asian I am until every single one of the weird little Asian gadgets caught my eye. I think I left the store with like eight different things I didn't need. But they were CHEAP.

Here is evidence of my Asian food binge. Perhaps I shouldn't be posting this.

Only Child Problems

I'm an only child.

It's pretty great. My parents never left me home so I've seen a lot of the world and done a lot of cool things because I'm an only child. If there was more than one of me, I would never have gotten to go to all the places I've been. I grew up on action movies because my parents didn't like any of the sitters. I think I'm a pretty intelligent person partly because growing up with just my parents, I learned how to have more stimulating conversations and my opinions were taken fairly seriously.

On that note, I've noticed some issues.

I don't understand the fundamentals of sharing very well. Don't get me wrong, I love sharing my stuff. But if there are certain rules that go with sharing, I don't understand. I don't borrow things ever. If I need something, I usually go out and buy it myself so I have my own. Maybe that's the thing. I like to have my own things. If you want to borrow that's cool, but I prefer to use stuff that's mine.

I need attention. I'm not even going to pretend that's not true. That said, I do have my limit with that. My ex was too attentive and that drove me nuts. Just make sure I feel included and not ignored. That is all.

I have a fear of abandonment. I'm not used to being alone a lot so when I am, sometimes I freak out.

Any other only children notice any of these or is it just me?

Throwback Thursday

The time I held up the line because Kat Von D and I were chatting too much at Sephora.

As you've probably noticed by now, my Throwback posts are usually my various celeb encounters, VIP events, or comps. I swear, I'm not trying to brag about how fabulous my life is (my life is actually pretty boring most of the time). The truth is, I actually suffer from some rather severe depression (seriously unfabulous). One of the things that kind of helps even out my moods and make me feel better is scrapbooking some of the more awesome events of my life and remembering the good times when things seem pretty bland. And since this blog is kind of like my scrapbook, here it is. Hope you don't mind. :-)

I love Kat Von D. I'm not crazy about her choices in men but she's really a sweet person and every time I've seen her, she has been just delightful. I had gone to her book signing when she released her book and also to the release party at Tao. Both events were insanely crowded but this Sephora event for her fragrance line was actually quite organized. Apparently I was the only person in line who had been to her other events so we chatted about them for a bit until security had to stop us because we were holding up the line. I really love her work and the tattoos that she has; she's so beautiful and I don't really think that all her ink deflects from that at all. Such a fun visit to Sephora!

Coyote Countryfest 2014

Wow, I'm getting behind!

So at the beginning of last month, my friend Michelle and I hit the annual Coyote Countryfest at the Orleans. This year Little Big Town headlined and they always put on a great live set. Tickets were almost ridiculously cheap for general admission and we managed to find really great seats fairly close to the stage.

Such a fun time!
