Salt Lake City

On my recent less than 12 hours in downtown Salt Lake City, I had to plan my time SUPER carefully. I wanted to see as much as possible and I only had like 6 hours in the city.

I took a shuttle straight from the airport to the Salt Lake Visitor Center to catch the US Bus Tour. This was a great hop on hop off bus that showed some great sights. I had also purchased the Connect Pass so that I could get off and see almost any of the sights along the way.

My main stops were the Hogle Zoo and the Lion House for lunch. I had a blast and only wished I had a few more hours to tour a few more spots. Still, a great afternoon!

Viva Las Vegas 2013

Every year in Vegas (around late March early April) we have the Viva Las Vegas Rockabilly Weekender. I love retro style and always wanted to participate but I'd never had the time/money to do so. One of the things I really wanted to do was a photoshoot with photographer Holly West but my schedule never worked out until this year. Here's some random photos from the weekend!

With Erica who made my hair awesome for the weekend!

Masuimi Max is so insanely beautiful. And crazy.

Throwback Thursday Boyband Edition Vol 3

During his brief stint as a Chippendale, I met Jeff Timmons. I was a pretty big 98 Degrees fan back in the day and Jeff was always my favorite. He's one of the nicest most down to earth guys I've ever met and I'm so happy for him with his new troupe/show and the NKOTB tour. Love when great things happen to great people. :-)

Pole Dancing in Vegas

I was going through old photos again and found some fun ones that prompted this post!

If you're looking for a fun, unique activity in Vegas (or an interesting way to work off those extra gourmet calories from the casinos), look no further!

You've probably seen random articles about pole dancing as a sport or work out. While it's definitely starting to build up around the country, here in Vegas, it's been around for a while. In fact, I met one of my closest friends in a class about 8 years ago when she was teaching at one of the studios. I loved it so much, I used to go every week.

There are a bunch of places in town that do the classes both on and off the Strip. It's a fun activity for bachelorette parties or girl groups just looking for an interesting work out. I've brought a bunch of friends with me and it's always been a good time.

A few things to know:

No experience or skill level is required. It's mostly for fun but it is a full body workout too.

Don't wear pants or leggings. A lot of pole tricks involve sticking your skin to the pole and it doesn't work if you're skin isn't touching the pole (yes they clean those poles).

On that note, don't wear lingerie to the class. I've seen people do it and it's kind of gross. The pole is clean but when you're sharing a pole with strangers, don't do gross things.

Don't be shy. It's just girls and besides, it's just Vegas.

Here are a few places to check out if you're interested:

Throwback Thursday Boyband Edition Vol 2

Wasted Space 2008

Took me two hours to work up the guts to talk to him which was stupid because he's the nicest guy ever. Nobody else seemed to know he was there.

Random Facts About Me

Remember how like, ten years ago MySpace was huge and everyone had one of those "About Me" quizzes on the front of their page? Well, I'm home and I'm bored. So this is kind of like one of those. Sort of.

My favorite cookie is white chocolate macadamia nut.

This year is the first year in about four years that I was not a zombie. I may have mentioned that before which just goes to show how much it bothers me. That said, I would LOVE to be a zombie extra on The Walking Dead. I have work experience in my resume, damnit!

I was named after a character in Gone with the Wind and I didn't actually move to Georgia until I was four years old; therefore, my hometown had nothing to do with the name choice.

I'm allergic to dogs. A bit difficult when you have dogs.

My favorite cartoon character is Stitch (he's Marc's too).

I have 21 tattoos.

I took the "sorting" quiz on Pottermore and got Slytherin.

My favorite superhero is Iron Man.
