Throwback Thursday Vacation Edition- Week 5

These were taken in 1998 on the same vacation as the Italy pictures from a few weeks ago. My parents and I spent a few days in Zurich and decided to take a daytrip to Interlaken and Grindelwald. I am not sure which of those towns is in which of these photos but they were both so beautiful (think Heidi) and I would love to go back one day!

Project 365- Oooooops

AUGH!!! I fell off the bandwagon!!! I forgot to take the pic for most of the week. I promise I had a good reason! I will try and make up the pics for next week; kinda bummed cuz I was doing so well! Lol

Anyhow I had the best weekend and pics of the awesomeness will be up this week along with a few poss but for now, here is a collage illustrating my excuse for spacing on my photo-a-day work.

Random Redneck Moments of the Week- Week 4

1. Telling my mom about my new patterned iPhone/Kindle/iPad case or purse and knowing she's going to say, "Oh, God, it's not camouflage is it?"

2. Trying to come up with infinite recipes that involve whiskey.

3. My most expensive pair of shoes aren't Louboutin or Jimmy Choo, they're Corral.

On another completely unrelated note, there is MAJOR awesomeness happening TONIGHT. I cannot wait to post about it!!!

Throwback Thursday Vacation Edition- Week 4

When I was about ten or eleven (I want to say ten), my family and I used to go to Lake Louise in Alberta to go skiing a few times a year. One spring break, I met a lovely English girl (the orange and yellow) in ski class who was staying on the same floor of the same hotel as me for the same dates of my whole stay. We spent our entire week together and had a blast. After that, we became pen pals and every year for Christmas we would send each other huge packages to each other of random cultural goodies (I would send her Backstreet Boys and she would send me Westlife). She was definitely the highlight of all my trips to Lake Louise and we are still friends to this day. In fact, I decided to enclose a pic of us from my trip to London in 2011 below.

Mondays

So usually I don't HATE Mondays quite as much as everyone else because my days off are Wednesdays and Thursdays so Mondays are kind of like my Thursdays.

Not this week. This week I am working seven straight days so Monday is like my Tuesday/Thursday rolled into one awkward middle of the week day.

Add to this the fact that my WoW account got hacked. WTF. I'm freaking out.

So today I'm going to try and concentrate on all the new awesomeness that the year holds right now:

1. Thompson Square is playing next month and I managed to snag meet and greet passes.
2. Thomas Rhett will be performing not once, not twice, but THREE TIMES in Vegas this year.

3. I may not make it to one of the festivals I really wanted to go to but I will get to see Keith Urban and the Rascal Flatts in April!!! ACM Party For a Cause just released their line-up and it's AWESOME.

4. I get to see my super amazing hand twin in May. Yes, you read that correctly. Hand twin.

5. Friday is going to be one of the best nights of 2014.

Cajun, Japanese, Indian. I think. It changes everyday.

Wish I could call in sick.
Check my phone to see if I can squeeze in five more minutes.
See if Roger woke up yet and if not, wake him up just to be rude.

Slather myself with body oil so my skin doesn't crack open.
Read a book.

Project 365 Saturday- Week 3

This week's photos were kinda tough!

Colorful
Roger's accessories. I got him this scarf that he thinks is food along with a variety of other things he thinks I'm crazy for trying to make him wear.

Makes me smile
My little guy. He's so smart and weird.

3 Things
These are the three things sitting on my desk that I try to use every day. Lotion, lip balm, and eye drops.

Black & White
This super cool Maybelline polish I randomly found. Love the street art splatter look!!!

Sun
The glare of the burning sun on my drive to work every morning. Grrrr...

Tiny
My first tattoo. It's about an inch long. The artist who did it just won a major tattoo reality show competition which is pretty cool. This little thing cost more than three of my tattoos by my friend, Ben, who is responsible for all of my best looking work. Never go to designer tattoo shops.

Happy Place
So super geeky. This is my WoW toon. This is my long day outlet, my best way to save money, my fave thing to do whenever I have a few hours to kill. It's the reason I save money to travel and my fave mode of communication with Marc.

Random Redneck Moments of the Week- Week 3

1. Today I contemplated real tree window drapes.

2. Wondering how many articles of camo clothing and plaid flannel shirts are considered too many...

3. Planning a redneck roadtrip to Tishomingo and wondering if I can fit in any fishing time while I'm there. The answer is probably no.

Throwback Thursday Vacation Edition- Week 3

These photos were taken on my family's trip to Cusco and Machu Picchu. What Peruvian vacation would be complete without a picture of a Llama. Or is that an Alpaca? I'm not really sure and I can't tell them apart but I definitely ate his cousin for dinner while I was there (he tasted like ground beef).
We spent a few days in Cusco before taking a train to Machu Picchu for the night. Exploring the ruins was a lot of fun and mildly terrifying because there are no rails or guard gates to keep you from sliding down the side of the cliff if you slip. Clearly we all made it back alive! What an awesome vacation (minus the two hour nosebleed I got from the altitude).

Really? Just... Really???

Hello again blog world! For the second time today?

So I have been super excited about this new link-up from Voyage of the Meemee and Duh Danae, like super excited. Below are the wonderful random bits of crap that come out of an unnamed man (if I don't name him he can't get pissed, right?).

Duh! Danae!

(While listening to the radio)
Him- This is Eric Church, right?
Me- No, this is Kip Moore.
Him- I don't think it's Kip Moore.
(Radio announces it was Kip Moore duh)
Me- See? I told you it was Kip Moore.
Him- I still think you're wrong. It was Dierks Bentley.

Me- Did you get everything we need for the burgers?
Him- Yeah, yeah. Except buns.
Me- What about ketchup, mustard, tomatoes?
Him- Oh yeah. No.
Me- So all we have is meat?
Him- Yeah.

My US Map

Got bored. Again. Made my visited States map. You can check these out here!

Answers to my own questions...

So I posted 11 questions for my Liebster Awards nominees and thought it might be fun to actually answer my own questions. I actually came up with the questions just looking at random things on my desk. I almost asked random questions about dog costumes but thought better of it at the last minute.

Additionally, if you liked the questions and post them, comment me a link to your blog, I would LOVE to see your answers!

1. If you could only eat one thing for a month, what would it be?
Right now the answer would be old fashioned donuts. I would gain about 10 lbs but I do love old fashioned donuts.

 2. If you could dress up as anything for Halloween (no budget or time constraint), what would it be?
I would get one of those insanely elaborate Scarlet O'Hara costumes. Complete with parasol.

 3. If you won a free trip anywhere with anyone, where would you go and who would you take?
I would take Marc to Australia so he can surf and I can watch him have an amazing time. That would make me really really happy. But I would want to do it as an Australia/New Zealand cruise so I can see where they filmed the Lord of the Rings (because I'm a dork and well he would enjoy that too).

 4. What is your favorite magazine and why?
I love Cosmo, Budget Travel, and Country Weekly because they encompass all my favorite things.

 5. What is your favorite candy?
Marc has got me hooked on Starbursts lately but I love gummy bears. Red ones.

 6. If someone gave you a $1000 gift card, where would you spend it?
Amazon.com. Because they sell everything.

 7. What three websites do you have to check every day?
Facebook, Weather.com, and Yahoo Mail (that sounds lame). 8. What photos are sitting on your memory card right now?

9. What is the design on your phone case?
It's real tree... If I lose it in the woods, I'm screwed.

 10. What is your favorite cookie?
I love white chocolate mac but right now my mom's oatmeal raisin cookies are the fave (I've averaged eating about five a day for the last three days).

 11. If you won free tickets to any concert, who would you see?
Toss up between Luke Bryan, Lady Antebellum or Florida Georgia Line (even though I already bought tickets to see them AGAIN in April and I'm seeing Lady A in three weeks).

My World Map

So I've done a looooooooooot of traveling in my last almost 30 years. I was bored one day (most days) and since everyone asks where I've been I decided to play around with this super cool site and make my very own world map. So here is where I've been so far!

I found this map on TravelTip.org, check it out!

My 2014 Map

So here is the map of places I'm hoping to see this year. Not getting too ambitious and I'm trying to just explore the US some more so here goes…

Some of it has been booked, some have deposits placed but either way, at least some of this should be happening. I'm too excited!

Project 365 Saturday- Week 2

So this week, here were the photo prompts:

Found

I had originally taken a different photo for this prompt until I found this stuffed animal. He wasn't lost exactly; however, he was kind of a nice find for the evening. This is Bixby, my dad gave him to me for my first Christmas after one of his business trips. He is, incidentally, my first stuffed animal ever. There is a crank on the back and he plays "Teddy Bear's Picnic". It still works even almost 30 years later. Kinda crazy, don't you think?

Happens Everyday

This photo is boring but I am taking Phyto tablets for a couple months. Every single day. I want my hair to grow. Not very exciting, but I've actually kept up with it.

Upside Down

Another boring shot. I wish more of these P365 photos could have a cool story but I guess the point really is to show the every day stuff. Which way is upside down for your hand? No matter, I took a picture of it mostly because I wanted to see how my new nail polish photographs with my phone. The answer: not so well.

Lucky Number

My lucky number is 12 which is actually tattooed on the back of my neck and I got it on my birthday (12/12) and oddly enough... it was my 12th tattoo. Did NOT plan it that way. BTW It is NOT easy to take a picture of the back of your own neck. Just saying.

Natural

I took a photo of this Poinsettia plant I received for Christmas... I'm TERRIBLE with plants. Marc has a green thumb and I tend to get things killed. I'm trying really hard and I think it's doing ok but not nearly as well as my co-workers plant (she's good with plants). Perhaps I should name this one but I don't want to get too attached...

Manmade

What exemplifies manmade more than an animal shaped flash drive? It's not mine, it was found. Don't know what was on it, don't want to find out. It's just cute to look at.

Looking Down

Looking down into my purse. It's newly organized with this great little case I got on Ebay for like, $3.50! All my glosses, inhalers, etc fit nicely and have their own place.

Random Redneck Moments of the Week- Week 2

1. I realized that I have walked out of work more than once with a camo beanie and a bottle of liquer in my hand (which I may or may not have actually drank at home).
2. The Christmas decorations at work are still up and the deer are sitting right in front of my desk. I keep picturing shooting them.
3. I realize now that any time I see game meat animals, I want to shoot them.

Have you had any random awkward redneck moments lately? Please share!

Throwback Thursday Vacation Edition- Week 2

When I was 12, my parents took me on a cruise of the Mediterranean for our big summer vacation. It was pretty cool because the ship we were on was in its inaugural season and it was (at the time) the biggest cruise ship in the world! Oddly enough, I watched Titanic on the flight home. Anyway, this was my first trip to Italy (and only one so far) and our first stop in Italy was Venice. My parents had splurged on a balcony suite so that we could enjoy the views coming in and going out of port. We had a really wonderful time and the most memorable part of the trip was standing on the balcony when we sailed into Venice (the pic below was taken from the balcony).

NFR 2013- Brett Eldredge

Wow, these NFR posts are going all the way through to January. Yikes.

Friday the 13th was a fun but very tiring day. I flew back from Reno that afternoon before hitting up the Brett Eldredge show at the Gold Coast.

Becca and I had seen Brett at the Toys for Tickets show the previous Sunday, but Kristy hadn't gone with us. Standing room was on the dance floor and the stage was super low so the show was pretty interactive and we were second from the stage.

So glad we made it to this show; his short set was fun but this was so much better. He did a lot of fun covers and even pulled a Christmas song (complete with Santa hat). He then serenaded my cell phone. I have now made it all the way through NFR without punching anyone (it happens from time to time when people get super obnoxious and elbow me in the face).
