A Week in Bali- Where to Stay

There are so many gorgeous hotels all over Bali; it was really hard to pick one!

In the end, we decided for a more conventional hotel instead of the gorgeous villas we saw because we planned to explore a lot and not spend too much time in the room. I got a great deal for the Ize Seminyak and we loved every minute of our stay.

I had contacted the hotel in advance when I saw that they assisted with private tours and car service. The staff was so helpful with providing pricing and recommendations for things to do and places to eat. They arranged all our drivers for airport transfers and private tours weeks before our arrival and it just made us feel so much better to know everything was already set up. The service was consistently amazing throughout our entire stay from the front desk staff to the security guard at the front of the hotel (he called us cabs every single day and was always so cheerful).

The hotel is located right in the heart of Seminyak and it was walking distance to a ton of great restaurants and shops. We even walked to some of the beach clubs that were a bit farther and it was a comfortable distance. The hotel restaurant was also really great and our stay included daily breakfast there. The selection was amazing- they have plenty of Western favorites and a ton of local goodies as well. They also have an a la cart egg menu that's included in the price so we often had eggs and waffles with our Nasi Goreng and local Balinese sweets. So nice! The service at the restaurant was also wonderful, they knew what table we liked and usually kept it open for us. We had dinner there the first night as well and it was really good.

We had booked a deluxe room but were upgraded to a deluxe room with the spa bath. The room was awesome- it's decorated very simply and has a very spa like feel to it. We also had a balcony that was really nice and had a great sunrise view each day (also good for applying bug spray). The room was really comfortable and even though we hadn't planned to be in the room much, we liked it a lot and spent more time there than we expected. We also had free minibar privileges so we got free sodas and water whenever we needed them.

Last but not least- the hotel has the most gorgeous rooftop pool. Because of jetlag, I was always up super early and I would come up here and sit and enjoy the sunrise. I caught a few gorgeous sunsets here too and it was so relaxing and beautiful.

There are a few other places in Bali I would love to stay if I was exploring the other areas of the island for longer. The Mulia Bali is gorgeous and amazing (it was voted the #1 resort in the world a few years ago). We visited the resort on our first full day and it was beautiful; I would love to splurge and stay in one of their villas! The whole property is amazing and right on the beach in Nusa Dua.

The Kupu Kupu Barong Villas in Ubud look amazing too. I would love to spend a few days in that area since there is so much to see and their tree villas look so beautiful!
